Position: Manager - US Payroll

The position Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the Clients payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Candidates who are experienced in US/Canada/UK payroll process and have an exposure to employee life cycle management including Employee Data Changes and Separations.

  • Process all transactional activities within existing and new HR practices
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Process client payroll as per prescribed guidelines
  • Set-up & update employee demographic information in client’s HRMS.
  • Ensure all systems and manual processing is accurate and timely, meeting requirements of integrity
  • Specialist knowledge and experience running all aspects of a payroll function.
  • Maintain and support delivery of service within agreed Service Level Agreements for specific customer types.
  • Review, monitor and implement new processes to better the department.
  • Sound working knowledge of managing a high-volume payroll. 
  • Act as the point of contact for any escalated payroll queries.
  • Balancing the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.

Primary Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with payroll software.
  • University Graduate with a minimum work experience of 4-6 years.
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written business communication.
  • Ability to follow defined processes / procedures
  • Organized, methodical, ability to deal effectively with multiple tasks
  • Ability to prioritize workload and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate high levels of energy & be pro-active
  • Well versed with basic computer tools (excel, word, PowerPoint) used in daily office environment
  • Experience in working in Payroll software like UltiPro, Darwin, Evolution, QuickBooks etc. is an added advantage
  • Should be comfortable working in NIGHT SHIFTS
