Our client is one of the Top Five Insurance Agencies in the U.S. and looked to Cognet to help them build technology and provide cost effective sales operations support for a National Practice to sell HR solutions to their customers. Our unique and specific industry knowledge enabled us to quickly build the software, submission and presentation support and analytics to succeed.

 
 

Goals

Reduce start up expenses by $0.5 million and speed time to market by six months, which were very clear and in start up mode hard to nail down, but we agreed on assumptions up front. Once quickly to market, their goal was to divert money and resources to actual sales, not internal infrastructure.

 

Economics

We compared the original internal budget submitted to a forecast prepared mutually to determine the costs of both start up models. Start up expenses were reduced by $0.6 million in the first year and expected billing from Cognet is trending better than anticipated due to innovation in the software tools, providing better than expected productivity.

 
 
 

Metrics and Guaranteed Results

Goals in this instance revolved around turn around time, given the time sensitivity of sales activity. Our agreed to Service Level Agreement started at 48 hours from the time of receipt of a complete submission, and is now hovering more towards 24 hours. We are using the 11 hour time difference to beat our goals and are looking to reduce them below 24.
